What is StorID?
StorID is a modern, tenant-facing mobile app designed by PTI Security Systems. It allows self-storage tenants to manage their access—opening gates, doors, and unit locks—directly from their smartphones, eliminating the need for traditional keys or keypad codes.
How do I get access to the StorID app?
When you move into a participating facility, you will automatically receive an SMS invitation containing a download link for the StorID app. Once downloaded, the enrollment process is streamlined to get you set up in minutes.
What are the key features of the StorID app for tenants?
Touchless Entry: Open gates and doors via Bluetooth by simply swiping your phone.
Digital Key Sharing: Securely share access with friends, family, or movers with configurable lockout options.
Access History: View a real-time log of when your unit or the facility was accessed.
In-App Payments: Conveniently pay your monthly rental fees directly through the app.
Biometric Login: Use facial recognition or fingerprint ID for fast and secure access.
Does StorID require an internet connection to work?
While an internet connection (cellular data or Wi-Fi) is required to download the app and sync data/payments, the actual communication with gates and locks typically uses Bluetooth technology.
Why does the app ask for my location (GPS)?
For security and functionality, Bluetooth-based access systems often require location services to be enabled. This ensures the app can communicate with the hardware only when you are within the authorized range of the facility.
What is Digital Key Sharing?
Digital Key Sharing allows you to grant temporary or permanent access to another person without giving away your personal login or physical keys. As the primary tenant, you can revoke this access at any time through the app.
What happens if I don't receive the enrollment SMS?
If you haven’t received your SMS invitation, please ensure your facility has your correct mobile number on file in the international format (e.g., +61 for Australia). You can also contact the facility manager to trigger a manual resend.
Is StorID compatible with all PTI systems?
StorID is designed to work seamlessly with the StorLogix Cloud platform and PTI’s latest hardware, such as the ProEdge Smart Latch and Apex/AP1 series keypads.
